This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a program located in Colorado Springs, CO. The incumbent will provide daily support to the operations and maintenance of a worldwide scheduling system for the Air Force Satellite Control Network utilizing a scalable Service Oriented Architecture to meet customer requirements and to allow for future expansion and integration with other US Air Force systems and tools. Candidate will be a member of a team tasked with the design, development and integration of new and legacy software components.
Responsibilities include all aspects of the development life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, integration and validation, with strong software troubleshooting ability. Must be able to design software and database components/interfaces to create an integrated suite of space weather applications. Must work well in a team environment and have good interpersonal skills. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3. Basic Qualifications for level 2\:
Bachelors degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent plus 2 years experience
U.S. citizenship
Current Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
2-4 years experience in object-oriented design and programming, with an emphasis on C# / Java, in a Windows or Unix/Linux environment
Good communication, writing, presentation and organization skills
Familiarity with SQL and ODBC/JDBC
Familiarity with Oracle for Windows
Familiarity with Scripting (Shell, Perl)
Knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle and processes
Preferred Qualifications for level 2\:
Experience with space-based and ground-based sensors
Familiarity with Agile software development process
Familiarity with SW CM tools like Clearcase
Familiarity with Mercurial or other distributed source control
Familiarity with Test Scripting

U.S. citizenship
