Brief Description:
Enterprise Boundary Protection Design Engineer to support the Architecture and Engineering division of the IT Services directorate on the JRDC program. This work is based at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL or Schriever AFB, CO.
Complete Description:
Duties include network boundary design, configuration, installation, and test of IT network firewall and intrusion detection systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for deriving system:level requirements from customer needs, determining project objectives, and implementing architectural standards; developing detailed designs with supporting implementation, test and transition plans. Ushering proposed system changes through the Configuration/Change Management process to successful implementation and test for transition to operations and maintenance (O and M).
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
: Possess strong writing and verbal communication skills.
: DoD xxxx approved IA certification such as Security+ with Continuing Education (CE) or CISSP.
: Must possess a DoD Secret level security clearance or the ability to obtain.
: 8 years of general IT experience and 5 years hands:on experience in designing and implementing IT boundary protection systems such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and proxy servers and has a thorough understanding of the DoD xxxx series of IA directives.
Preferred Requirements: Technical experience should include the following technologies: Cisco ASA, Juniper Netscreen, Palo Alto and Citrix NetScaler Web Application Firewalls, Cisco IDS/IPS, Bluecoat proxy servers, VPN including IPSEC, Riverbed WAN optimization. Recommend one or more industry firewall and network certifications (i.e. CISSP, SSCP, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, BCCPA, BCCPP.) Scripting knowledge a plus. Ability to lead small technical teams to deploy IT in a high operations tempo environment. Looking for a collaborative team player, willing to mentor others, and understand the importance of risk management and sound process engineering.
