JOB DESCRIPTION:
The System Security Engineer will support the JRDC Infrastructure Engineering Information Assurance for the MDIOC. This position will primarily focus on Risk Management Framework implementation and management for multiple systems. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to providing technical security engineering support for software/hardware/network systems. Assist in applying system security and cybersecurity engineering principles to engineering issues and provide realistic and implementable configuration management solutions designed to enhance the MDA security posture.
Specific expertise shall include infrastructure design with a focus on implementing new technologies within STIG compliance; Cybersecurity and how it affects implementation of new tools like cloud technology; and documentation development focused on briefings and certification and accreditation. Strong writing and project management skills necessary to produce documentation required for certification evaluation. Must be highly self:motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail; have creative problem:solving abilities; ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high:pressure environment; work with minimal oversight; enjoy working in a team:oriented, collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
: Bachelors degree
: 7 years of Cybersecurity experience
: Able to maintain Risk Management Framework accreditation packages and work within DISA sponsored accreditation tracking tools.
: Possess significant knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) in order to plan and select access controls for protecting sensitive and classified information.
: Possess a full understanding of background and context for identification, authentication, and security settings embedded within DISA STIG documents.
: Evaluate requests to back off security settings and weigh the impact of security versus operational requirements to make an educated decision and recommendation to Government.
: Able to oversee and manage vulnerability remediation efforts. Skilled and proficient in using IA/CND "Best practices" for strategic planning and consultation.
: Experience with software tools such as ACAS, STIG Viewer, and Microsofts suite of office tools.
: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is required.

: Experience in Linux/Unix operating systems to the extent of building and troubleshooting configurations
: Able to oversee IAVM Program patch deployment, identify shortcomings, develop solutions;
: Identify and work with open source software operating systems
: Knowledge of TEMPEST enforcement; understand CAC/PKI technology
: Have a good understanding of software testing and evaluation; Insight into Common Criteria requirements
: Insight into FIPS 140:2 standards.
