Security Clearance Level Secret
Key Functions Provide communications systems engineering support on programs such as the Transformational Satellite (TSAT). Develop and analyze requirements, conduct system level and component level trade studies, specify radio frequency (RF) communications performance and interfaces, and advise on technology investments. Conduct trade studies on alternative radio/system design approaches. Develop technical white papers and briefings on TSAT design and development issues. Participate or lead technical interchange meetings and government-led studies.
Required Education/Experience: BS and 1 year experience or MS
Desired Education/Experience MS in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics with 5+ years experience in analysis, design, or development of digital communications systems or satellite communications systems. Requires experience in digital communications theory, detection and estimation theory, RF modulation techniques, error correction coding, spread spectrum techniques, multiple access techniques, and signal processing.
Required Skills: Requires technical skills to understand and analyze communications problems and trades. Requires ability to place results of technical studies into a systems engineering context. Proficiency in written communications skills also required.
Desired Skills Excellent interpersonal skills required for interaction with customers, project leaders, team members, and government agencies. Must work collaboratively within a team, or independently, as the situation requires. Proficiency in computer analysis and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, STK, etc.) preferred.
Travel Statement *This position will require overnight travel up to 20% of the time.
