This position provides engineering solutions to forge production problems while utilizing skills in metallurgy, heat treat, metal stamping and metal fabrication. Designing and implementing of dies is essential to the position and implement continuous improvement projects to optimize material usage in the manufacturing processes. Understanding set-up needs, fixturing and quick changeover is required. · Follow all safety procedures. · Design and develop parts and tooling for forged product lines. · Partners with production management and other internal departments to provide engineering solutions to forged products. · Utilize CAD system to prepare drawings for forge tooling and products as required to support on-going operations and new products introductions. · Optimize tooling for maximizing production (getting the most parts out of a billet). · Implement cost reductions and various strategic manufacturing initiatives to support growth programs and create cost reduction strategies within area of responsibility. · Hands on problem solving Required: · Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a high volume manufacturing forged parts environment. · Extensive knowledge and experience in forge manufacturing processes, quality principles and various manufacturing strategies.
