Reporting tothe Engineering/Quality Manager, the Controls Engineerprovides engineering
solutions and support forelectrical controls and robotics in the Western Forgeplant in Colorado Springs, CO.
Responsibilities/Duties
* Direct engineering technicians and operations personnel in the operation and improvement of robotics andelectrical control systems to sigma quality process control.
* Develop human-robot interface for complex systems sthat enable simple intuitive operator interface control.
* Motion control programming: develop and document electronic controls and techniques
* Improve and establish manufacturing processes for control
* Clearly communicate to teams
* Manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
Required Skills
* Hands on ability to evaluate, improve and control electronically operated systems (PLC, motion control, PID control)
* Process knowledge and experience developing process flow documents
* Strong Six Sigma (DMAIC) experience
* Problem solving skills including statistical process control mathematics.
* Hands on ability to lead manufacturing teams for root cause investigation and permanent corrective action.
* CAD, solid models, Excel
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Ability to present to senior leadership
* Ability to support other engineering projects and processes.
Preferred Skills
* Hand tool robotics or electronic manufacturing systems
* Certified Six Sigma
* Certified in plating or finishing processes.
Required Experience
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a high volume manufacturing
* Minimum of three (3) years inelectroniccontrols or robotics
* Experience in implementation of electrical process control documentation and process control procedures in manufacturing.

Preferred Experience
·Lean manufacturing experience.
Required Education
·Bachelor-Ts Degree from a four year College or University in Electrical or Autormation Engineering or related degree.

* Manufacturing environment may include high temperature.
