The problem with solar is supply and demand. The solar industry has seen almost 10 year of cost reduction in this industry. Because of so many new orders coming in on a daily basis, for the first time in solar history, the solar industry is unable to keep up. From material manufacturers of framing materials for the solar panel to electrical connectors to roof mounting racking systems, they are unable to keep up with demand. It?s not just the smaller companies, it?s also the mega large companies.
One of the largest German based panel manufactures is said to be running 3 months behind. So with the demand being so high, the cost of solar is starting to creep up. Many new players and national companies have jumped into the solar manufacturing industry helping to stabilize the price and keep solar affordable?for now.
With the 30% tax rebate that will end in xxxx, the general population will rush to buy solar. This will, no doubt, drive pricing even higher the closer you get to the xxxx deadline. But beyond that, Colorado itself is facing a huge monumental deadline wherein Colorado must have 30% of all electrical produced come from renewable energy. Many other states are facing similar mandates for renewable energy to be a large amount of total electricity produced. There is no hard line data that Colorado will be even close to being ready by this date. This will put even more pressure on the solar manufacturing companies.
Even with the looming deadlines, roof top solar is still one of the very best investments a person can make right now. No other investment is as underutilized as solar. But that is changing. And now that ?the cat is out of the bag? and roof top solar is everywhere, it will be saturating neighborhood after neighborhood in the South East Aurora area. The next big hurdle is for the general consumer to be educated because not all solar is created equal
